WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE?
Why does it always have to be?
Every time you see me
walking down the street with my children
that means I am a woman who has been left struggling alone?
You have never seen a man on my arms,
in your mind that means I am lonely.
You think because I dress so nicely,
my nails done and my hair in place…
that means I am out to catch a man.
It is not because I love myself
and I have a high self-esteem!
Why does it always have to be?
When I step into a club alone that means
I am supposed to picked up so easily.
I become “Miss Stuck-Up’ once I turn down a dance.
Maybe, I am there to clear my mind
and music helps me to a certain degree.
Why does it have to be?
I need a man to make me complete?
I work hard every day to take care of myself,
and I really enjoy spending the money on ME.
You see…
You may not see a ring on my left finger,
but I am a very happy woman, and totally complete,
very independent, and quite unique,
and let’s not forget one more thing…
That I am living quite comfortably!

I keep finding myself in a daze
wondering what I did wrong to be treated this way.
You left me all alone to the outside world.
A world that is already so cold,
when I am supposed to be wrapped in your arms
feeling safe and warm.
I love you and I want to spend
the rest of my life with you.
We shouldn’t let problems get in the way of our future.
We should be able to sit down like adults and
come up with a solution.
You can’t run or hide from problems,
they are a part of everyday life.
What happen to working it out?
You left me all alone,
shut the door in my face
as you turned and walked away.
If your sister came to you with tears in her eyes,
would you remain calm or tell her to move on?
I know deep down in my heart
that you would comfort her.
Please don’t hurt the one you love.
